1 gallon of KONTROL 4-4® contains 0.3344 lbs of permethrin and 0.3344 lbs of PBO

1 gallon = 3.785 liters
1 pound (lb.) = 453.6 grams

0.3344 lbs X 453.6 g/lb = 151.68 grams a.i./gal.
151.68/3.785 = 40.07 grams/liter

1 liter        of  KONTROL 4-4 contains 40 grams of permethrin.
1 milliliter of  KONTROL 4-4 contains 0.040 grams of permethrin.
1 milliliter of  KONTROL 4-4 contains 40 milligrams of permethrin.

TAKE one (1) milliliter of KONTROL 4-4 ® CONCENTRATE and, using a volumetric flask, dilute it to 100 ml FINAL VOLUME with A.C.S. acetone.   [A.C.S. acetone is the grade of acetone approved by the American Chemical Society.]  This is the STOCK solution.

The STOCK solution contains  0.4 milligrams/ml

TAKE 10.75 ml of the STOCK solution and dilute it to 100 ml FINAL VOLUME with A.C.S. acetone.  This is the TEST solution.

0.4 milligrams/ml X 10.75 ml= 4.3 milligrams of permethrin
4.3/100 = 0.043 milligrams/ml

This is the same thing as 43 micrograms/ml

The TEST solution contains 0.043 milligrams of permethrin per 1 ml
The TEST solution contains 43 micrograms of permethrin per 1 ml.

USE 1 ml of the TEST solution in each bottle of the Bottle Bioassay.
