Eric Cope is the 2006 PHEREC Staff Member of the Year!  At the September PHEREC staff meeting Director John Smith announced that Eric was the staff’s choice for  “Employee of the Year.”

            Eric  is an indispensable employee in the Disease Ecology and Control Section.  He has been the “go to” man when it comes to filling in for the section’s arbovirus surveillance field staff responsible for operating weekly mosquito and wild bird traps.  His “can do” attitude and willingness to serve are highly worthy of praise.  This attitude carries over into the laboratory where he has, without hesitation, volunteered to come in regularly at night to prepare mosquitoes for repellent tests.  Additionally, his mechanical and shop skills have been of great value to the section and other PHEREC faculty and staff.
