Ninety-seven people registered for this years Southeast Conference. Registrants
traveled from as far away as Texas, Massachusetts and Tennessee to join us on the sugar
sands of the Florida Emerald Coast. Baldwin County, Alabama Health Department
certainly deserves an award for their active and enthusiastic participation during the
three-day conference. Military public health personnel represented the Panhandle armed
forces installations at Pensacola Naval Air Station, Eglin AFB and Tyndall AFB. Health
departments from Bay, Calhoun, Liberty, and Escambia counties were also present. We
were especially pleased with the participation of the exhibitors: Adapco, Clarke Outdoor
Services, Univar USA, Valent Biosciences, and Wellmark who supported the meeting this
year. Thank you for your support! This was our best year ever for commercial
exhibiters. This year a new Web site was available to aid in
the Continuing Education Unit (CEU) process. The Florida Department of Agriculture and
Consumer Services Pesticide Applicator Continuing Education Unit Web site features a
searchable database of training events offering CEUs. The PHEREC-sponsored Southeast
Conference was included in this database making it easy to determine how many CEUs and
what categories were offered. We look forward to using this Web site again next year to
improve our ability to provide training to our clientele. Check it out for yourself. Go

and click on Guest-Reports only to enter the site.
We have begun the process of developing the program for 2005.

Beach Resort and Convention Center in Panama City Beach. The dates we have reserved are
February 22, 23, and 24, 2005. Mark your calendars!
